 Highlights of March 7, 2009 Meeting

Location: The meeting was called to order at the SCP Office at 10:00 am.

Present: S.Jacobson (President), G.Stevens, J.Curry, L.Vilness, K.Todd, G.Glaicar, C.Schroeder, J.Keller, J.Dudgeon, S.Hengen

Other: K.Messer-Engel (Registrar)

1. Council made motions that pertained to staff salaries, including the provision of a benefits package.
2. Council approved a governance model policy for inclusion in the Executive Council governance policies.
3. Committee appointments and reappointments and one removal from the Register were approved.
4. Council accepted the 2008 Auditor’s Report and the 2009 Budget.
5. K. Messer-Engel reported that there were 487 members of the College. Of these, 393 were full practicing, 53 were provisional, and 41 were non-practicing. There are 8 pending members.
6. Council approved the establishment of a set oral exam panel with the provision of an honorarium that will be funded on a cost recovery basis from the exam fees.
7. Council approved the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers.
8. Council approved the Continuing Education Credit – Audit Policy and Procedure.
