 Highlights of June 23, 2007 Meeting

 

Location: The meeting was called to order at the SCP Office at 10:01 a.m

Present: M.Vandergoot, S.Jacobson, L.Vilness, W.Lyons, J.Dudgeon, K.Todd, J.Curry, F.Lalonde

Others: K. Messer-Engel, Registrar

  1. As of June 23, 2007 there were 487 members registered in the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists. Of these, 377 were Full-Practicing, 59 were Provisional and 51 were Non-Practicing members. Three Provisional members were awaiting their oral examinations. Seven full-practicing memberships were pending.
  2. Council was delighted to learn that Mr. Gordon Glaicar and Mr. Curt Schroeder have been appointed as Public Representatives for the College.
  3. Council accepted the Professional Conduct Committee’s recommendation that continuing education opportunities be posted on the SCP website. Notices will continue to be sent via e-mail as well.
  4. The strategic planning process was reported to be underway. As part of the initial information gathering V. Sluth will be conducting an environmental scan of College members and a survey of the College’s stakeholders.
  5. In response to a recommendation from the Professional Conduct Committee, Council will examine alternative methods for monitoring the members’ continuing education credits.
