Executive Council Highlights

 Highlights of January 13, 2007 Meeting

Location: The meeting was called to order at the SCP Office at 10:12 am

Present: D. Blackman, M. Vandergoot, J. Curry, J. Dudgeon, S. Jacobson, F. Lalonde, W. Lyons, L. Vilness

Others: K. Messer-Engel, Registrar

Regrets: W. Streelasky, M. Reeves

1. There are currently 477 members in the College including 367 Full Practising, 56 Provisional and 54 Non-Practising. Eight Provisional members are awaiting their Oral Exams.
2. Three members, P. Hemingway, F. MacBean, and R. Ryan are deceased and Council authorized their names to be removed from the Register. Council approved requests from nine other members that their names be removed from the Register and that they no longer be considered members of the College.
3. Five members whose fees were not paid were removed from the Register of Licensed Psychologists until such time as they are no longer in arrears. They remain members of the College, but are not licensed to practise.
4. Council agreed to renew The Memorandum of Understanding between the SCP and the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers for a period of two years.
5. Arrangements were reviewed for the Ethics Workshop and AGM to be held March 24 th at the Boffins Club in Saskatoon .
6. K. Messer-Engel agreed to represent the College at the next ASPPB Meeting in Louisville Kentucky April 26-29 2007 .
7. Since only registered psychologists can be considered for the position of Deputy Registrar Council decided to solicit applications through contact with the membership rather than to expend resources on general advertising.
8. Nominations were received for the positions of Treasurer and Member-at-Large.
