Executive Council Highlights
Highlights of February 23, 2008 Meeting
Location: The meeting was called to order at the SCP Office at 10:00 am.

- K. Messer-Engel reported that there were 476 members in the College. Of these, 386 were full-practicing, 50 were Provisional and 40 were Non- Practicing. 17 Provisional members were awaiting their oral examinations.
- Council decided that it was necessary to impose fees for the evaluation of transcripts. A bylaw amendment will be presented for ratification at the Annual General Meeting. If ratified, the changes will include an initial application fee of $150.00 including the evaluation of transcripts and the imposition of a $50.00 fee for transcript evaluation requests that are not associated with an initial application.
- Plans for the AGM and the accompanying educational session were finalized and details resolved.
- The strategic planning process continued. V. Sluth’s Strategic Planning report was accepted and the Strategic Planning Advisory Committee will study it and report back to the next Council meeting.
- In response to a query from Saskatchewan Health, a majority of Council members agreed to support a proposal to amend clause #4 of Section 23 of the Psychology Act to include “duly qualified, registered Social Workers”.
- K. Messer-Engel will attend the ASPPB April 10-13, 2008 and the ACPRO meetings which will be held in conjunction with CPA in Halifax on June 12-14 2008 . Another council member may also attend.
