Highlights of April 8, 2006 Meeting

Meeting called to order at 10:01 a.m.

- Council discussed the Annual General Meeting and considered ways of increasing attendance for 2007 AGM. It was decided that the next AGM be scheduled for March 24, 2007 in Saskatoon and that an educational session will be included.
- Registrar K. Messer-Engel reported that as of April 8, 2006 there were 470 members in the College. This included 372 Full Practicing members, 49 Non-Practicing members, and 49 Restricted members. She noted that the College provides information about members’ area(s) of competence if requested and that, regardless of the fact that the College does not regulate competencies, the public perception is that this is being done. She recommended that Council review the issue of claimed competency and changes in areas of claimed competency.
- The next scheduled session of Oral Examinations will take place May 26, 2006 in Regina.
- The College will advertise the position of half-time deputy registrar with advertisements placed in the Star Phoenix and the Leader Post
- S. Jacobson and K. Messer-Engel will attend the CPAP meeting June 11 & 12 2006 in Calgary.
