Executive Council Highlights
Highlights of September 27, 2003 Meeting
Location:new SCP Offices 348 Albert St., Regina
Meeting called to order at 10:15 am.
Present: All Executive members were present.
- The minutes of the Annual Meeting, March 29, 2003, were received and would be submitted to members prior to the upcoming Annual Meeting.
- In conjunction with the upcoming CPA Board meeting, Council offered to co-host receptions planned with the U. of R. and the U. of S. faculties. To inform members a CPA mailing to all members was approved.
- With a desire to address mutual concerns in training and continuing education, plans were initiated to explore the possibility of a meeting early in 2004 with Reps from each of the two University Faculties as well as the fraternal bodies of PSS and SEPA.
- With the Registrar away on a month long holiday, actions on some items, such as research related to the oral interview, was tabled until the next meeting.
- Due to concerns and difficulties related to office operations personnel changes were initiated in the position of Office Manager.
- Information on the most suitable formats to mark the annual renewal of the license provided to members are being sought.
- After Duncan Blackman outlined and demonstrated changes being initiated to the database to improve the office information system, Council expressed its appreciation for his steady work on improving its efficiency.
- In response to discussions on forming a provincial Disaster Response Network, Council agreed to explore ways of mobilizing and providing various kinds of mental health and counselling support.
- Arrangements to clean up and dispose of the outdated computer were made.
- Additional plans for orientation to bookkeeping procedures were authorized with the Auditor’s staff to insure efficiency.
Meeting adjourned at 3:35 pm.
Upcoming Council meetings were planned for Oct. 25th and Nov. 29th.
