Executive Council Highlights

Highlights of July 17, 2004 Meeting

Location: SCP Offices 348 Albert St., Regina

Meeting called to order at 10:10 a.m.

Present: The Registrar and all Council members were present.

  1. The Saskatchewan College of Psychologists is involved in organizing a conference on privacy issues in cooperation with the Saskatchewan Information and Privacy Commissioner and other professional stake-holding bodies. Information is posted on the College website.
  2. The Treasurer’s report showed that the College was maintaining a balanced budget at the present time. However an increase in staffing costs is anticipated.
  3. Membership numbers have remained fairly constant, though several members moved from provisional to full-practicing status. Total membership as of July 17, 2004 was 447.
  4. The Council accepted the recommendation of the Registration Committee that members practicing on provisional licenses would have two years after their supervision plan was approved in which to meet the criteria for full membership.
  5. The Ad Hoc Committee on Competence was asked to address questions of the membership regarding declared areas of competence and the range of competence required of individual members in the area of diagnosis.
  6. Della Hunter and Ken Hardy were appointed to the Legislation and Bylaws Committee.

The meeting adjourned at 3:35 p.m.
Future meetings were tentatively scheduled for August 28th and September 25th 2004.
