Highlights of February 11, 2006 Meeting

Meeting called to order at 10:10 a.m.

- Council is pleased to announce that K. Messer-Engel has accepted the position of Registrar for the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists effective April 1, 2006.
- D. Randall reported that, as of February 11, 2006, there were 366 Full Practicing members in the College, 50 Non-Practicing and 52 members with Restricted Licenses. There were 5 members waiting for Oral Examinations. The Oral Examination Committee is tentatively planning another test session for this spring. Council accepted the resignations of eight members from the register of the College.
- Council passed a motion to amend Regulatory Bylaw 9(e)(ii) which defines the requirements for full-practicing membership at the doctoral level. As of February 11, 2006 CPA/APA approved pre-doctoral internship will be accepted as meeting the supervision requirement for licensure.
- D. Randall attended the January 22 meeting of the Canadian Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology (CRHSPP) and provided a written report. He will continue to be on the CRHSPP council until January 2007 and has agreed to continue to pass on to the SCP Council pertinent items from CRHSPP. D. Randall encouraged the College to maintain representation with CRHSPP.
- It was noted that several Committees had members who were approaching the end of their terms so new members will be needed. Anyone interested in participating in committee work, please contact the SCP office.
- The Professional Conduct Committee reported five cases on their docket, two of which will proceed to the Discipline Committee, two are being closed and one is currently in the process of investigation.
- Preparations are completed for the AGM on March 25th at the Regina School Board Office at 1:00.
The meeting adjourned at 2:15 p.m.
An upcoming meeting was tentatively scheduled for March 11, 1006.
The Annual General Meeting will be held on March 25th 2006.
